Description

We are thrilled to be opening a communications and community engagement internship position for Ocean Conservation Research, a research and policy development organization focused on marine bio-acoustics and the impacts of human generated noise on marine life.

Tasks involve managing social media, media and biological research, writing, outreach, and communication with the public, ocean advocates, and the press. Skills you will develop include communications research and implementation, community outreach, and social networking campaign development. You will cultivate connections in environmental conservation and advocacy communities. Strong communication skills are a must, a willingness and excitement about the learning process, and a dedication to engaging the next generation in addressing the needs of our ocean.

You will get expert training from environmental and communications consultants, interface with an enthusiastic public, and work with marine conservation professionals. You will also develop skills in SalesForce Client Relationship Management software, Vertical Response campaigns, and WordPress website design.

Bay area residents are preferred. Our office is in San Rafael - which we like to keep lively.
