Book Sorter

Volunteer requisites include: be well read, with a knowledge of books, physically able to lift one banker box full of books, a "can-do" work ethic and a sense of humor. (You need the humor part when you open a box and get a strong whiff of moldy books aged in a wet garage or basement for a looooong time.) You must be comfortable working in a built in trailer with one other masked volunteer.  Book donations are sorted to augment the San Rafael Library's collections and others, including rare books for sale to benefit the Library.  Friends Books is a nonprofit bookshop benefiting the San Rafael Libraries.
