Here's a Real Opportunity to Assist Three Older Wildfire Survivors

Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity and the Napa County Disaster Recovery Group are assisting three older 2017 Wildfire survivors to rebuild their homes in the Mount Veeder and Atlas Peek areas of Napa County. Before construction actually begins this summer, we are looking for some hearty volunteers who will work in groups of six along with a site supervisor at each house site performing cleanup work that needs to be completed including brush removal, weeding, raking, spreading woodchips, improving pathways, and removing low hanging branches. This work will require volunteers who are in relatively good physical condition and who can easily maneuver in fairly rough terrain. Volunteers should plan to wear work pants and a hat for protection from the sun, shoes that provide good support, and work gloves.

Work sessions will occur in the morning from 9:00 am to noon. A snack and cold drinks will be offered and toilet facilities will be provided. Please contact Nathan from the Napa County Disaster Recovery Group at 603.494.7266 if you’re interested or would like additional information.
