Organization Profile

Earth Day Marin / Shore Up Marin

What We Do:

Currently Earth Day Marin is working with the Shore Up Marin coalition on equitable adaptation to sea level rise and community leadership and emergency preparedness capacity building. The main focus of our efforts is in the Canal neighborhood of San Rafael led by Shore Up Marin Co-Director Douglas Mundo, also Executive Director of Canal Welcome Center and Marin City led by Terrie Green, Co-Director of Shore Up Marin and of the Marin City Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition. Hannah Doress of Earth Day Marin and Sandy Wallenstein of GreenUp Learning also work on the program which is supported by San Francisco Foundation. We are currently looking for volunteers in the Canal neighborhood and in Marin City. In the past, in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Earth Day Marin has brought our community together in a fun free festival to connect us to the resources we need to increase our commitment to, and reduce our impact on, the environment.
