What We Do:
GOTR Napa & Solano is an independent, small local 501 (c)3 non profit Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of 200+ locations across the United States.Girls on the Run is a healthy, empowerment program for girls ages 8 to 13. Young girls are inspired to be confident, joyful, healthy & caring so they believe in themselves to activate their limitless potential and achieve their dreams. Meeting twice a week in small groups of 8-15 girls, we teach life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and games. The 20-lesson life skill curriculum is taught by volunteer life coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large. At the end of the program, the girls gain a life skill tool kit, complete a 5K and organize a community impact project. Girls experience the sense of achievement by completing the 5K and the joy of giving by organizing and build a stronger self-esteem through the GOTR experience and curriculum.
