Marin County Ombudsman Programhttp://www.marincounty.org
What We Do:
The Ombudsman Program actively works to protect the rights and dignity of residents in nursing homes and residential care facilities. Staff and volunteers maintain a presence in facilities, investigate and resolve resident complaints and advocate in support of residents and their families.
Who We Are:
The Ombudsman Program is a local non-profit service offered through the Marin County Division of Aging. The Ombudsman volunteers are State-certified and thoroughly trained. Staff supervision is provided to the volunteer who makes regular visits to long-term care facilities, builds relationships, and promotes the quality of care and quality of life for vulnerable and isolated senior residents. Volunteers investigate complaints and resolve problems for residents, report cases of abuse and ensure the protection of resident's rights.
