Organization Profile

What We Do:

The Spahr Center was created in March 2015 through the merger of Marin AIDS Project (MAP) and Spectrum LGBT Center (Spectrum), and named for the founder of our two organizations, Jane Spahr. The two agencies worked side by side through the years; MAP concentrated on direct, health-related services and prevention/education for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS while Spectrum focused on advocacy, education and support for the LGBT community. The Boards of Directors merged the two agencies to assure that Marin would continue to have a strong voice for LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS issues, and a safe, welcoming, and supportive center for our communities.

Who We Are:

We are staff, volunteers, service learner and supporters who are devoted to serving, supporting and empowering Marin’s LGBTQ community and everyone in the county living with and affected by HIV.
