Cesar Chavez Day of Service 2021
Dates: 3/24/2021 - 5/7/2021
“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community…Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.”
- César Chávez
This César Chávez Day of Service opt for a "Day On, not a Day Off" by getting involved and participating in various volunteer and educational opportunities!
One of the great civil rights activists, César Chávez is recognized for his contributions to farm workers' rights every year on César Chávez Day. César Chávez helped pave the way in securing basic rights for farm workers by establishing the United Farm Workers Union (UFW) alongside Dolores Huerta and the Delano Manongs. Some of the most important protections the UFW secured include the first farm worker contracts in US history, medical health plans, and higher wages.
